About Me

Hi! My name is Mira and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from Midwestern State University. I also graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Development and Family Sciences and a concentration on Families and Personal Relationships.

Life’s challenges can feel especially heavy when you’re navigating societal or family expectations. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I understand the complexities of inter-generational trauma. The weight of cultural and societal expectations can take a toll on one’s mental health. Family & religious pressure can also have a negative effect on our own identity and self-perception. These pressures can leave you questioning your sense of self and your place within your community.
Divorce, especially among South Asian women, can be an incredibly isolating and painful experience. In many South Asian cultures, divorce is still stigmatized, and societal judgment can feel overwhelming. One may find themselves caught between the desire to move forward and the fear of disappointing your family or being labeled. These emotional and cultural challenges can make it even harder to heal and reclaim your life. It’s important to know that your experience is valid, and that your path to healing doesn’t need to be dictated by external pressures.

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for your individual experience. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express your emotions and explore your path forward. Together, we’ll work to unravel the layers of grief, shame, and confusion that often arise during life’s most difficult transitions, helping you rebuild your self-worth and reclaim your sense of self.

Making the decision to see a therapist and starting your own healing journey takes courage. Every individual is unique and so are their reasons for seeking therapy. Together we can take a collaborative approach to find what works best for you!
